The psychological black comedy “Judgementall Hai Kya” experienced a weekend surge after a lackluster start, poised to achieve three-day collections of ₹19.25 crore. While struggling in mass pockets, the film is gaining traction in multiplexes, reminiscent of director Anubhav Sinha’s “Article 15,” which, released the previous month, also secured a weekend collection of ₹19.84 crore.
Taran Adarsh, a trade analyst, tweeted about “Judgementall Hai Kya” going from strength to strength on day three, highlighting its robust performance in national multiplexes and solid overall growth over the weekend.
In contrast, the comedy-drama “Arjun Patiala,” the other Hindi release of the week, managed only ₹4.50 crore over the weekend, despite the popularity of lead actor Diljit Dosanjh, particularly in the northern regions. The film’s meager opening day collections of ₹1.25 crore suggested little chance for growth, according to Box Office India.
The standout success of the month remains Disney’s animated film “The Lion King” with ₹32.25 crore, securing the second-highest second weekend for a Hollywood film in India after “Avengers: Endgame” (₹50.92 crore). Currently standing at ₹113 crore, “The Lion King” is poised to surpass the ₹150 crore mark, already ranking as the fourth-highest grossing Hollywood film in India.
Meanwhile, Hrithik Roshan’s “Super 30” has crossed the ₹125 crore mark after its third weekend, experiencing only a 50% drop compared to the second. Predicted to surpass the business of “Gully Boy,” the film is expected to finish in the ₹140 crore net earnings range, potentially becoming Roshan’s second-highest net grosser, surpassing the ₹141 crore figures of his 2014 hit “Bang Bang.”
Adarsh expressed optimism, noting that “Super 30” continues to gain momentum, recording a significant jump on the third Saturday and is likely to comfortably cross ₹130 crore, with a chance of reaching near ₹140 crore.
